Hendricks Regional Health is continuing its support of high school athletes in Hendricks County with the Comeback Athlete Award. One athlete from each Hendricks County high school was recognized for their return to competition following an injury, in addition to their leadership, sportsmanship and academic performance. All the Comeback Athletes were nominated by their high school athletic directors.
The Comeback Athletes honored this year were:
- Kenna Kirby, from Tri-West. Kenna competed in basketball and soccer for the Bruins.
- Gavin Garcia, from Brownsburg. Gavin wrestled for the Bulldogs.
- Caden Whitehead, from Danville. Caden played baseball for the Warriors.
- Morgan Hoard, from Avon. Morgan competed in cross country and track and field for the Orioles.
- Josie Jones, from Cascade. Josie competed in track and field, volleyball and cheer for the Cadets.
- Audrey Harper, from Plainfield. Audrey played basketball and tennis for the Quakers.
All the Comeback Athletes received a certificate of recognition and a $500 scholarship to help with college expenses.
